Blurb/Summary:

A young woman is brutally murdered, her body dropped into the sea and carried by the tides onto the beach at a federal park at the Jersey Shore. Hometown investigators believe the woman simply partied too hard and fell overboard, but FBI Agents David Owens and Anna Parker know better.

David and Anna trace the victim's path from a local adult club to a dangerous and shadowed world that forces them under cover, into performances that awaken their own desires, and draw them closer to the killer. Soon they are racing against a clock set by an unknown enemy, compelled to carry out a plan that not only jeopardizes their lives, but tests their very beliefs, and their newfound love.

Review:

While the story was well written, with a great voice, description, and plenty of action and suspense, I had a hard time with this book because of some of the scenes.

Some were quite intense, but on a good note, it means that the narrative and description is good because I had a strong reaction to it. It was a bit too dark in some places for my liking.

Other than that, I did enjoy the story. Leah St. James pens a dark tale of murder, going undercover, and takes the reader places you wouldn't even imagine. I do like the writing style of this author, and hope to read more.

Thanks, Nikki, for taking the time to read and review my book, and for your honesty!

My mind went to those dark places during my research, and I knew when I included those elements in the story they would probably be too intense for some. (Even my own sister skipped pages!) :-) But I thought they were an integral part of the story so I left them in.

Thank you again for your review!
